State Public Service Commissions hold APPSC exams to select and appoint government personnel to various positions. In India, there are nearly 28 SPSCs, the most prominent of which are the APPSC (Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission), the CPSC (Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission), the GPSC (Goa Public Service Commission), and others. This exam is regarded as difficult in comparison to other state-level competitive exams. However, with proper guidance from coaching centres, passing this exam is simple.
Three sections to clear in APPSC exam
To clear the APPSC exam, the examination candidate has to clear three main sections. They are:
- APPSC Prelims Exam
- APPSC Mains
- Interview
Exam pattern followed in APPSC exam
A distinct pattern is followed for all three sections of the tests. The following pattern is followed for the three major sections of the APPSC exam.
- The APPSC preliminary examination will include 150 objective type, multiple choice questions. Candidates must finish the paper in 150 minutes. There will also be a third of a point deducted for each incorrect answer.
- The APPSC mains will include a written exam with answers expected in a descriptive format. English, History, Economics, Science and Technology, Data Interpretation, and other subjects are covered.
- The one-on-one interview will assess your confidence, communication skills, general knowledge, and so on.
Eligibility criteria to appear in APPSC exam
The government has established certain requirements for taking the APPSC exam. They are as follows:
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- Except for the Fire Service and Police Service, the age limit for most APPSC exam positions is 18-42.
- The applicant must have a degree from an unrecognised university.
- The candidate should have the expected physical height, weight, and so on for police and fire service.
